Un percentil de 50 
:
- De un grupo de 100 niños de la misma edad, el peso / la altura de su niño es por encima de 50 y por debajo de 50.
Un percentil de 80 :
- Significa que 80 / 100 niños pesan menos que / son más bajos que su hijo, y 20 pesan más que / son más altos que su hijo.
Un percentil alto :
- Significa que la mayoría de los niños son más bajos / pesan menos que su hijo.
Un percentil bajo :
- Significa que la mayoría de los niños son más altos / pesan más que su hijo.
