Costa Rica has been producing cacao for centuries – but only in the last decade has it actually been producing fine chocolates. Sibú Chocolates is one of the pioneers in organic, sustainable Central American chocolate, and it’s some of the best chocolate you’ve ever tasted!
This Sibu Chocolate Tasting Tour is an 1/2 day optional excursion on our Spanish Immersion trips in Costa Rica. Refer to your itinerary for more information on if and when it is offered during your program. Add to cart to make a payment and sign up for this excursion.
Please note: Transportation is not included in the tour cost – the group will share a taxi or Uber to get to the chocolate tour and back.

Tantos chocolates! Este tour fue increible. Los señores/fundadores eran cuentacuentos muy cautivadores. Nos ofrecieron seis chocolates diferentes que ellos producen, mientras nos dijeron la historia de chocolate y su origen en Costa Rica. Tambien ellos tienen una tienda donde puede comprar muchas formas de cacao y chocolate. Si te gusta chocolate, te recomiendo que escojas este tour!
Soooooo many chocolates! This tour was pretty cool. The founders were captivating storytellers. They presented six different chocolates that they make, while they told us the history of chocolate and its origin in Costa Rica. They also have a store where you can buy many different types of cacao and chocolate. If you like chocolate, I recommend that you pick this tour!

Me encanta el tour de Sibu Chocolate! Los anfritiones fueron comicos y tenian mucho conocimiento de la historia y el proceso de chocolate en Costa Rica y el mundo entero. La presentacion incluyo tres muestras de bebidas historicas de chocolate y seis tipos de chocolate. Tambien probamos la fruta de cacao. Que interesante! Por supuesto hay una tienda para comprar todos los chocolates que Sibu producen. Fue increible!
I loved the Sibu Chocolate Tour! The hosts were funny and so much knowledge about the history and the process of making chocolate en Costa Rica and in the entire world. The presentation included samples of three different chocolate drinks and six different Sibu chocolates. We also got to try the fruit of the cacao itself! Of course, there is a small store on site where you can purchase all of the chocolates that Sibu produces. And they have beautiful packaging for gifts for your family back home. <3

This was definitely worth the time and money. If you like chocolate, you will like this excursion.
