Discussing STDs & Having Conversations about Safe Sex in Spanish

When you’re having those safe sex conversations and talking about how to prevent the spread of STDs in Spanish, it’s easy to get passionate about what you’re educating on because simple solutions go a long way in helping people stay healthy.

Yet, at the same time, patient education on STDs in Spanish can be challenging because you’re not sure if the words you’re using are correct, professional, and akin to how you would educate about STDs in English.

Enfermedades de transmisión sexual – STDs:

  • VIH / SIDA 
  • VPH 
  • Clamidia 
  • Gonorrea 
  • Sífilis 
  • Herpes 

Signos y Síntomas:

  • Ampollas 
  • Ardor al orinar 
  • Brote 
  • Desecho (secreción, pus) 
  • Dolor con relaciones 
  • Dolor/Molestias al orinar 
  • El fuego 
  • Erupción / irritación / ronchas 
  • Huele mal 
  • Orina nublosa / turbia
